Cryptochaetum jorgepastori Cadahia
Taxonomic placing: Insecta, Holometabola, Diptera, Nematocera, Cryptochaetidae.
Distribution: Spain, Israel, and Turkey.
Morphology: Body foreshortened, 2-4 mm in length, mostly shiny black, with red, large eyes. The antennae are without an arista and their terminal segment is very long and thick.
Life history and economic importance: An endoparasitoid of Palaeococcus fuscipennis, which is more effective at low pest levels.
