Neolucopis tapiae Blanchard
Systematic position: Insecta, Holometabola, Diptera, Brachycera, Chamaemyiidae.
Distribution: Of South Asian origin, this insect was introduced into and became established in Hawaii and in Israel.
Morphology: The adult insect has a grey body, brown-black legs and prominent red eyes.
Life history: A specific predator of Pineus pini.
Economic importance: A major specific predator of P. pini capable of controlling that pest.
