Anal ring

Anal ring

A sclerotized ring (which may be separated into two crescent-like halves) that is located at the posterior part of many Coccoidea, and usually bears 3-4 pairs of setae. The honeydew that these insects produce is expelled through the ring. In the soft scales (Coccidae) the anal ring is covered by the anal plate.
