Anthomyiidae
A cosmopolitan family in the suborder Brachycera of about 1,500 named species whose maggots are mostly phytophagous, feeding on the roots of many plants or mining in their leaves. Delia antiqua, Delia flavibasis, Pegomyia betae and Pegomyia cunicularia are pests in the Middle East.
