A small family of ca 350 species in the suborder Apocryta. They are mostly solitary endoparasitoids of aphids (Aphididae), preferring apterous hosts. Some Aphidiidae (like Lysiphlebus fabarum) or species of Aphidius are being used in the biological control of pestiferous aphids.
