Cerarii

Cerarii

Clusters of stout, conical setae and wax pores that occur on the margins of (usually) each thoractic and abdominal segment of the Pseudococcidae. They produce much of the wax that covers these insects. Usually there are two stout setae on each segment, although more may occur on the anal lobes. Cerarii are distinctive for the family Pseudococcidae.
