Macroducts

Wax ducts that begin at the wax glands and open at various sites on the body of armored scale insects (Diaspididae), often on tubercles or at the pygidium. They occur in two main shapes. One-barred ducts have a single sclerotic bar at their inner ends and are usually long and slender. Two-barred ducts have two sclerotic bars at their inner ends and are short and relatively thick.
