Membrachidae
A family of over 2,500 species of phytophagous Hemiptera, commonly called treehoppers. They are recognizable by their enlarged pronotum, which may cover the head as well as the abdomen. Their eggs are deposited into slits made in the host plant, on which the nymphs develop.
