Mycangia

Mycangia (singular: mycangium are special structures on the body of an animal that are adapted for the holding and transport of symbiotic fungi (usually in the form of spores). Mycangia occur in many wood-eating beetles (such as Scolytinae), the fungi helping to digest the wood and/or being the main diet of the beetles.
