Distribution: Of South Asian origin, this insect was introduced into and became established in Hawaii and in Israel.

Morphology: The adult insect has a grey body, brown-black legs and prominent red eyes.

Life history: A specific predator of Pineus pini.

Economic importance: A major specific predator of Pineus pini capable of controlling that pest.
