Organochlorides

A group of insecticides based on chlorinated hydrocarbons (organochlorines). They include DDT, methoxychlor, dieldrin, chlordane, toxaphene, mirex, kepone and lindane. They persist in the environment and in the bodies of humans and other animals long after exposure, and are largely banned in many countries.
