Perilampidae

A small family of about 300 species within the Chalcidoidea. The bodies of the adults have shining, metallic bluish colors and a broad prothorax. The larvae are hyperparasites or parasitoids. The larvae of the hyperprasites, which are planidia, attack various parasitoids within the bodies of their hosts, mostly Tachinidae and Ichneumonidae.
