Pyrethrins

Contact insecticides derived from the plant Chrysanthemum cinerariifolium (Trevir.) Vis. They rapidly enter the insect body and attack its nervous system. They are biodegradable and considered to be of low toxicity to humans. Pyrethrins have been used as models for the pyrethroids.
