Scelionidae
Systematic position: Insecta, Holometabola, Hymenoptera, Apocrita.
A large family that contains over 3.000 mostly black species. They are usually egg parasitoids of various insects and of spiders, and some (like Trissolcus spp.) are important natural enemies of pests.
