Tortricidae

A medium-sized cosmopolitan family of small phytophagous moths (Lepidoptera). The larvae live in concealed sites on their hosts, feeding within roots, stems, leaves, flower heads and fruit. Several species, like the codling moth, Carpocapsa pomonella and the European grape-berry moth, Lobesia botrana, are major plant pests in the Middle East.
