The meeting will address pest management challenges related to ongoing changes in climate, consumer demand, economy, regulation and technology, as well as invasions by new pest species. These and related topics will be discussed under the theme Pest Management in an Ever-Changing World.
Researchers, technical staff and extension personnel from the public and private sectors, as well as graduate and post-graduate students will discuss challenges associated with biological and integrated management of arthropod pests and diseases of protected crops in Mediterranean climates.
The program will include oral presentations, poster sessions and discussions, and a professional visit to commercial protected vegetable operations. This visit will provide a unique opportunity to explore new technologies and approaches, share knowledge, and interact with growers and extension officers. The program structure and the collegial atmosphere will encourage informal interactions, facilitate learning and the exchange of information, and promote the exploration of shared interests and possible collaborations
